An introductory level where the student will practice basic greetings, social exchanges, and basic needs along with gaining an understanding of questions and beginning statements. With practice the student will move to a higher degree of expression by using the proper structures and verb tenses (present, past, future) to interact through the use of various real life scenarios. • daily routines of greetings, family, weather, money • using a restaurant • travel including airports and hotels • shopping and markets • the everyday world we live in • the workplace Level 2 An intermediate level where the student has a basic understanding of general statements, questions, and structures of English. Here the students will apply general understanding to expand vocabulary and specific language patterns to increase proficiency in English to problem solve and become more independent in social and workplace situations through the use of scenario interaction. • brief explanation of experiences • explain directions or procedures • encountering problems to work through • technology • express conditions Level 3 A higher level of proficiency where the student communicates successfully using proper structure and vocabulary to express ideas and respond to general inquiries. At this level the student will be able to explain opinions, as well as, effectively comprehend reading newspaper articles, movies, and television programming. • explain character traits • discuss current events and issues • express political points of view • writing for expression • reading books and articles with understanding • outline plans and schedules Level 4 At level 4 the student will develop an accuracy and proficiency in English to be able to fluently use language to discuss or resolve most situations.
